The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1995 with an initial intake of 30 students. The Andhra university has increased the number of students from 30 to 40 in the year 2004.

Master of Science in Mathematics, a course is having good demand in the light of new opportunities, existed in the form of number of jobs available in teaching as well as government and corporate sectors are concerned.
